What a packing slip is — and what goes on it
A packing slip (also called a packing list or delivery note) is the piece of paper that travels inside the parcel. When the buyer opens the box, it answers three questions at a glance: who sent this, which order is it, and is everything here? That is its whole job — and it is why the slip lists items and quantities, never prices. Prices belong on the invoice, which the buyer gets by email.
The standard anatomy is simple: seller block, buyer block, order number and date, an items table, a total quantity, and the carrier plus tracking number. Anything else — a thank-you note, a returns address, a discount code for the next order — is optional garnish.
