A freelance studio starts October with €5,000 in the bank. Clients pay €8,200, other income adds €400, rent costs €1,200, suppliers €3,100 and salaries €2,400 — so operating cash flow is €1,900. An equipment purchase of €1,500 (investing) and a €2,000 owner contribution minus a €500 loan repayment (financing, net €1,500) leave a net change of €1,900. Closing cash is therefore €6,900. Try those exact figures in the tool above and watch the totals match.
That structure — operating, investing, financing — is the same one accountants use, so your statement reads correctly to a bookkeeper or a bank. If you also need the profit picture, pair it with our profit and loss statement maker, which answers a different question: profit earned, not cash moved.
A statement of cash flows groups every cash movement into three sections — operating, investing and financing — under IAS 7, the International Accounting Standards Board's standard on cash flow statements. That three-section structure is what banks and accountants expect to see, and it is the structure this tool produces. Unlike a profit figure, which includes unpaid invoices, the closing cash on this statement is money that actually moved.
Server-upload tools receive your full document: your client names, amounts, salaries or CV details sit on somebody else's server, under somebody else's retention policy, even if the page promises deletion. This tool does the opposite — the PDF is assembled or converted by JavaScript running on your own device, so the file never travels anywhere. You can verify that in your browser's Network tab: no upload request appears. For confidential business and personal documents, that difference matters more than any extra feature, and it is why our safety guide recommends browser-only tools for sensitive files.
This tool formats the figures you enter; it does not import bank feeds, reconcile accounts or file taxes. For bookkeeping, use proper accounting software and keep each downloaded PDF as your record.
How a flow is classified can affect tax and reporting. If a large or unusual item is involved, check with your accountant or your national tax authority before relying on the statement.
Because nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored for you either. Download each statement before leaving the page.
The PDF uses a standard font for maximum compatibility, so exotic scripts and emojis are simplified. Keep labels in standard Latin characters for the cleanest output.

A cash flow statement is only useful if it reaches the right people, and a free mailbox address does not look like a business. MailCheap provides private email hosting for your own domain, so your financial documents arrive from a professional address you control.
Yes — unlimited statements, every field and PDF download, forever. No trial, no watermark on your statement, no account and no payment details, because everything runs in your browser.
No. The maker works the moment the page loads. There is no account and no email capture — which also means the form clears if you refresh, so download your PDF before leaving.
Only in this browser tab while you type. The PDF is assembled on your own device with a JavaScript PDF library, so your business figures are never uploaded to any server.
Profit counts income you have earned, including invoices not yet paid. Cash flow counts only money that actually moved in or out of the bank. A business can be profitable on paper and still run out of cash — that is exactly what this statement reveals.
Type a minus sign before the number, for example “Equipment purchase: -1500”. Outflows in the operating section are entered as positive amounts and subtracted automatically; investing and financing flows use their sign as typed.
Yes. Choose EUR, USD or GBP in the currency menu and every total in the live preview and the PDF updates to that currency symbol.
It follows the standard three-section structure accountants recognise, and it is a genuine searchable PDF. For formal filings, have your accountant review the classification of unusual items first — this tool is not accounting advice.
