A balance sheet answers one question at a glance: what the business owns, what it owes, and what is left for the owner. Enter your assets, liabilities and equity below and the tool checks the balance live, then downloads a clean balance sheet PDF — built on your device, never uploaded.

A small studio holds €5,400 cash, €3,200 owed by customers and €8,000 of equipment — total assets €16,600. It owes €2,100 to suppliers and €5,000 on a bank loan (liabilities €7,100), and the owner has put in €9,500 of capital. Liabilities plus equity come to €16,600, so the sheet balances exactly. Enter those figures above and the live check shows a green balanced message.
If the check shows a difference, something is missing or mistyped — usually an account left out of one side. Fix the entries rather than forcing the totals: a balance sheet that does not balance is telling you something. For the period's trading result, see our profit and loss statement maker.
The balance sheet rests on one equation used in bookkeeping worldwide: assets equal liabilities plus owner's equity. The IASB's Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting and IAS 1, Presentation of Financial Statements, set out this statement of financial position as one of the core financial statements. This tool applies that equation literally and warns you the moment the two sides do not match.
Server-upload tools receive your full document: your client names, amounts, salaries or CV details sit on somebody else's server, under somebody else's retention policy, even if the page promises deletion. This tool does the opposite — the PDF is assembled or converted by JavaScript running on your own device, so the file never travels anywhere. You can verify that in your browser's Network tab: no upload request appears. For confidential business and personal documents, that difference matters more than any extra feature, and it is why our safety guide recommends browser-only tools for sensitive files.
This tool formats the figures you enter; it does not import bank feeds, value assets or close your books. For formal accounts, use proper accounting software and have an accountant review the result.
Asset values, depreciation and equity treatment depend on your country's rules. If a figure is uncertain, check with your accountant before relying on the sheet.
Because nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored for you either. Download each sheet before leaving the page.
The PDF uses a standard font for maximum compatibility, so exotic scripts and emojis are simplified. Keep labels in standard Latin characters for the cleanest output.

When you send business documents, a free mailbox address does not look professional. MailCheap provides private email hosting for your own domain, so your orders and statements arrive from an address clients trust.
Yes — unlimited sheets, every field and PDF download, forever. No trial, no watermark on your sheet, no account and no payment details, because everything runs in your browser.
No. The maker works the moment the page loads. There is no account and no email capture — which also means the form clears if you refresh, so download your PDF before leaving.
Only in this browser tab while you type. The PDF is assembled on your own device, so your balances are never uploaded to any server.
Then an entry is missing, mistyped or on the wrong side. Check each list against your records: the difference shown is exactly the amount to find. Never adjust a figure just to force a balance.
A balance sheet is a snapshot on one date — what you own and owe. A profit and loss statement covers a period — what you earned and spent. You need both: profit explains how equity changed, the balance sheet shows where you stand now.
Yes. Choose EUR, USD or GBP in the currency menu and every total in the live preview and the PDF updates to that symbol.
It follows the standard assets, liabilities and equity structure and downloads as a genuine searchable PDF. For formal filings, have your accountant review valuations and classifications first — this tool is not accounting advice.
