Example: a Berlin shop order of 20 printed mugs (2 cartons) and 50 flyers becomes a one-page note: supplier, customer, note number, date, three item lines, and two signature lines — ready to travel with the parcel.
The distinction matters, and mixing the documents up causes disputes. A delivery note proves what arrived: items, quantities, date, and a recipient signature. It normally carries no prices, so warehouse staff and customers can check goods without seeing your margins. An invoice proves what is owed: prices, tax and payment terms — it is the document the EU VAT Directive (2006/112/EC) regulates in detail, including sequential numbering and the seller's and buyer's VAT IDs. A packing list is the warehouse-internal cousin: it describes how goods are packed (carton contents), not the commercial handover. Send the delivery note with the goods, the invoice by email, and keep a signed copy of the note — that signed copy is your proof of delivery if a customer later says a parcel never arrived.
What every good delivery note needs: a unique note number (sequential, like invoices), the delivery date, both addresses, item lines with quantities and units, and a signature line. Missing any one of these turns a proof-of-delivery into an argument: without a date you cannot prove timing, without a signature you cannot prove receipt, and without quantities you cannot settle a short-delivery claim.
Server-based generators receive your customers' names and addresses. Ours never does — the PDF is assembled by JavaScript on your device. Verify it in the Network tab: no upload happens. Our safety guide explains the difference.
Delivery notes list goods, not money — so the driver, the warehouse and the customer can all check the parcel without seeing your pricing. Prices belong on the invoice.
Sender and recipient lines are built into the PDF. Print it for a wet signature, or sign the downloaded file with our free PDF signer.
The output is a genuine, searchable A4 PDF document generated with a real PDF library — crisp at any zoom, professional on screen and in print.
Your delivery note carries zero generator branding — just your business and your goods. No trial clock, no email capture.
Pair the note with a receipt once payment lands, and keep all three documents — note, invoice, receipt — for your year-end records.
A delivery note records a handover; it does not replace your sales contract, terms of sale or carrier agreement. For high-value shipments, use tracked carriage and keep the carrier's proof too.
Because nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored for you either. Download each note before leaving the page and file it with the matching invoice.
The note uses a standard PDF font for maximum compatibility, so exotic scripts and emojis in names are simplified. Keep names and addresses in standard Latin characters for the cleanest output.
Yes — unlimited delivery notes, every field, PDF download, forever. No trial, no watermark, no account, no payment details. It runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to meter.
A delivery note (goods-despatched note) travels with the goods and proves what was delivered, to whom and when — it usually shows no prices. An invoice is the separate payment request that follows. Many businesses send both: the note with the parcel, the invoice by email.
No. The maker works the moment the page loads. There is no account and no email capture — which also means the form clears if you refresh, so download your PDF before leaving.
Only in this browser tab while you type. The PDF is assembled on your own device with a JavaScript PDF library — supplier and customer details are never uploaded to any server.
No, by design. Delivery notes traditionally list items and quantities only, so the recipient can check the parcel without seeing your pricing. Add prices on the invoice instead — our invoice generator makes that document.
